Florida Georgia Line broke from Luke Bryan’s Dirt Road Diaries tour to celebrate their first number-one single, “Cruise,” with two VIP parties in Nashville.
With their families in tow, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard first hit a private party Tuesday afternoon at the CMA headquarters, where industry folks showered them with gifts and plaques in honor of the song. Brian and Tyler then cruised to an after-party at Marathon Music Works and continued the celebration.
FGL’s Brian Kelley says “It’s a surreal feeling. It really is because we just started writing songs on the back of Tyler’s tailgate. You know, I don’t think you ever set out to write a hit song. I mean, you want to write a great song and hope somebody likes it and your friends like it and your fans like it. But hopefully that’s a product of making fans and being successful and getting to do what you love, and that’s what we’ve always set out to do.”
