David Allan Coe is recovering from injuries suffered in a car crash early Tuesday morning.
The Ocala Star-Banner says the 73-year-old country star had been taken to an area hospital following the accident.
Coe's road manager says the singer is "doing OK," and his wife is at his side. Ocala Police say witness reports indicate Coe was at fault. Lt. Corey Taylor says people who saw the crash say Coe was running a red light when a semi, which had the right-of-way, struck the passenger side of the singer's 2011 Suburban. The truck overturned in the wreck, and knocked out a traffic control box.
Coe had to be removed from his mangled vehicle by firefighters. The truck driver was admitted to the hospital in serious condition. His passenger was treated and released.
Coe's concerts this week in St. Louis and Louisville, Kentucky have been cancelled.
